Newborn Sessions | FAQ
Q: When should I book?
A: You can book your newborn session as soon as you find out you’re pregnant! It’s never too early. Signing your contract and paying the Date Reservation Fee puts your due date on my calendar. I only accept a few newborn sessions each month.
If baby is already here and you still haven’t book, still reach out to me! There is a chance that I can get you in for a session.
Q: How old should baby be for photos?
A: Ideally, newborns are photographed between 5-12 days new. Newborn photos can still be captured after this timeframe, but baby might be more awake and less likely to curl up into the womb-like poses.
Q: What do I need to bring with us to our session?
A: A pacifier, a clean diaper or two, and a bottle (if baby is bottle-fed)
Q: Who should come?
A: Parents and siblings only. It is highly encouraged that siblings be picked up after they are photographed with baby, or dropped off at the end of the session.
Q: What if baby doesn’t cooperate?
A: Don’t worry! I have a lot of experience soothing babies and I have all of the patience in the world.
Q: How can we prepare for our session?
A: Dress baby in a zip-up or button-down sleeper (something that doesn’t need to be pulled over his head.) This helps me undress baby without disturbing him. Feed him before you leave the house. Typically a full belly and car ride makes for a very sleepy and happy baby!
Q: What should we wear?
A: Visit my Pinterest Style Guide for inspiration for the whole family. The guide includes up-to-date links to make shopping easy-peasy!
Q: What if your home-studio is too far of a drive for us? Can you do it in our home?
A: I do not offer in-home newborn photography, but I can bring my studio closer to you! There are photography studios in Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, and Mesa that offer hourly rental rates. Ask me for pricing when you inquire about a newborn session.
