After a cumulative four years (and counting) of breastfeeding, I consider myself somewhat of an expert. I’m passing on some of my nursing knowledge to you by sharing my top five must-have items for nursing moms. Each of these products have made my breastfeeding journey much easier!

  1. I’ve tried a few different nursing covers and my absolute favorite is Covered Goods. I love this brand for so many reasons! Cute prints, soft material, perfect size, easy to use, and multiple functions (nursing cover, carseat cover, shopping cart cover, and more.)

  2. Lansinoh makes a ton of great feeding products for mom and baby. For breastfeeding moms, their lanolin nipple cream is essential! Pack it in your hospital bag and start putting it on as soon as you start feeding your little nursling (even if your nipples don’t feel dry, cracked, or sore, yet). I keep a tube in my nightstand for easy middle-of-the-night access.

  3. Save your back by investing in a My Brest Friend nursing pillow. The lumbar support is ah-maz-ing for all of those long hours of breastfeeding in a rocking chair or on the couch. I love that it’s flat, instead of rounded, so baby doesn’t roll down between the pillow and your belly. And I love that it buckles around your waist, so you can put it on before you pick up baby and it stays put while you get situated.

  4. I have searched high and low for the best nursing tops and Milk Nursingwear is the winner in my book! Here’s a few of my favorites from their collection:

5. When my first baby was 12-weeks-old, I went back to work full-time in an office. I used this electric double pump while I was there to keep up with his demand. I love that it comes with its own travel bag, cooler, and ice pack. But, now that I work from home (and on my own schedule) I don’t need as big of a milk stash. I’ve ditched my double pump and found that this Lansinoh manual pump gets the job done. It’s easy to setup, easy to pump (not to mention, an amazing hand and bicep workout), and easy to clean.

Nursing my little ones has been one of my favorite parts about being a mother. I hope this list helps you prepare for your breastfeeding venture!
