Aya | Sitter Session

Aya is six months old! She celebrated her half birthday just a few days after Christmas, so Mom requested a festive theme for her sitter session.

This pretty girl has recently discovered her tongue and showed it off throughout her session. So cute!

I can’t wait to see Aya and her family again in May to capture her first birthday!

Otto Ryan | Newborn

On November 15th, our family welcomed Otto Ryan to the world! Two weeks early and weighing just 5 lbs 9 oz (the same exact weight as our other two!)

I had big plans for all the creative sets and styling that I was going to pose him in for newborn photos… but it turns out it/s really really difficult to photograph your own newborn.

At one week postpartum, I just didn’t have the strength and stamina as I usually did and could only last about 30 minutes in the studio, kneeling in front of the bean bag, posing a baby who just realllllly wanted to snuggle with the familiar scent touching him.

Before I knew it, a month had passed and now Otto is beyond the ideal age to be posing a baby (he doesn’t sleep as deep and wakes up as soon as I put him down.)

But don’t worry, I’m having fun taking a ton of lifestyle shots to document this new life in our house.

Maybe I should add lifestyle newborn sessions to my repertoire? Email me if you think I should!

Charli Olivia | Fresh 48

She’s here! My newest niece, Charli, arrived on December 4th,… three days overdue!

I got to the hospital just in time to catch her first bath. Of course I had to document it! She wasn’t too fond of the sponge bath, but looooved having her hair washed and combed.

I love capturing sweet moments like this at the hospital.. otherwise the first couple days quickly become a distant memory. This is why I’ve added Fresh 48 Sessions to my services for 2019!

Lauren (That's me!) | Maternity

Hi! Now’s as good a time as ever to introduce myself… I’m Lauren! This is my family: my LEO (that’s cop lingo wink), Everett (4), Ella (2), and baby #3 (the reason i’m currently on leave.)

I procrastinated and waited until I was 37 weeks to do my maternity photos (not recommended). I handed my sister the camera, gave her a few pointers, and posed my family as best I could (the kids were a bit noncompliant and we were running out of light.) Despite the circumstances, we got a handful of pretty good shots!

I went into labor just a few days after this session! Baby is already a month old now (I’m behind on blogging) and I’ve been spending as much time as possible snuggling my new little guy while my husband is still on paternity leave.

I plan on returning to “work” (not sure I really consider photography a job, since it’s so fun) in January. Can’t wait to see some new and familiar faces in 2019!!
